Tesla Model S Diagnostic Report
Initially, we confirmed the customer’s concern that the vehicle would not fast charge (DC). Subsequently, we reviewed the stored fault codes and carried out targeted checks around the charging system and interlock monitoring.
Further analysis indicated a likely on-board charging system fault contributing to the charging disable condition, alongside an HVIL-related code.
- DC charging concern verified
- Relevant fault codes captured and reviewed
- On-board charging system suspected as root cause

Tesla Model S Repairs
First, we inspected and assessed the charging system components associated with the stored faults. Next, we replaced the affected components to restore correct charging operation. Finally, we performed post-repair functional testing across both AC and DC charging.
- Replaced the on-board charger with a tested recycled OEM on-board charger
- Replaced the charge port cable
- Cleared faults and completed post-repair validation checks

Resolution
The vehicle’s charging performance was restored following repair. During vehicle testing and road testing, we verified successful charging using both a 7 kW AC charge point and a DC fast charging port, confirming the repair was complete.
- Charging functions restored
Fault codes cleared (where applicable) - Repair verified on AC (7 kW) and DC fast charging
