MHEV 48v Battery Resets
Get your 48V mild-hybrid system safely re-enabled after low-voltage faults, crash shutdowns, or module replacement.
MHEV 48V System Reset Issues
48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) systems add a higher-voltage electrical network alongside the 12V battery. They typically power components such as an integrated starter generator (ISG), DC-DC converter, electric supercharger, active roll control, and other high-demand loads.
When the 48V network is disabled, you may see charging warnings, stop-start and mild-hybrid functions stop working, or the vehicle may log fault codes that prevent the 48V contactors from closing.
Our 48V battery reset service focuses on safe de-energisation, correct system shutdown, diagnostic reset/adaptation, and verification. On some platforms, a specific disable procedure must be followed before disconnecting the 12V battery.

Common Symptoms
“Charging system fault” or “48V system malfunction” warning
The vehicle detects a fault in the 48V electrical system and may disable mild-hybrid operation.
Stop-start no longer works
Many MHEV platforms suspend stop-start when the 48V network is offline or in a protection state.
Persistent fault codes after battery/module replacement
After fitting a 48V battery, DC-DC converter, ISG, or related module, the car may require adaptation, calibration, or re-initialisation.
Crash event / safety shutdown stored
After an impact event, some systems remain shut down until the fault state is cleared and the 48V network is correctly re-enabled.

Vehicles Affected
Because 48V architectures vary by manufacturer and model year, we confirm applicability during initial assessment.
Commonly seen across:
- German MHEV platforms (e.g., many Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW mild-hybrid variants)
- JLR MHEV platforms (e.g., Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, Evoque mild-hybrid variants)
- Other 48V-equipped mild hybrids
What's Included?

Safety-first power down & de-energisation
We follow an appropriate manufacturer-style de-energisation approach for the vehicle platform. Where required, we disable the 48V electrical system before any 12V battery work.

12V and 48V system health checks
We check the supporting 12V supply and relevant grounds, as low 12V voltage can prevent correct 48V wake-up, charging, and contactor operation.

48V battery / BMS reset or re-initialisation (where applicable)
Depending on platform and fault state, this may include re-latching / re-enabling the 48V contactors and completing BMS initialisation routines.

Root-cause identification (not just a “reset and hope”)
If the system has shut down due to an underlying fault (DC-DC converter issues, ISG faults, wiring damage, undervoltage, crash event data, etc.), we document findings and advise next steps.
All work is backed by a 12-month warranty covering both parts and labour, giving you peace of mind and confidence in the quality of our service.
Great customer service. No complaints whatsoever. They were able to fix my EV battery quickly at a fraction of Range Rover new battery price. Adam was very helpful in arranging my car to be collected from the dealership to their site and was keeping me updated every step of the way. I highly recommend them.
