Tesla Model S Diagnostic Report
In this case, a Tesla Model S arrived with the key complaint of battery issues, including refusal to charge and inability to start. Our diagnostics began with a full fault-code scan revealing codes such as W173, W163, W166, U025, U018 and W090. Live data revealed that module 6 in the high-voltage battery pack had significant brick-voltage spread (one brick at 3.213 V versus others at 3.353 V and 3.488 V) which indicated instability. We removed the high-voltage battery pack and discovered a corroded Battery Control Board (BMB) which was the root cause of the fault.
Tesla Model S Repairs
- Removing the high-voltage battery pack from the vehicle
- Replacing the damaged Battery Control Board (BCB) with a verified working unit
- Re-sealing the battery pack and performing pressure and insulation tests to ensure safety and integrity
- Reinstalling the battery pack, initiating charge, and performing a full road test to confirm functionality
