EOS (End of Service) Testing

EOS (End of Service) testing is the final validation step after high-voltage work, confirming your BMW or MINI EV is safe, sealed, and ready to return to customers.

What is EOS testing?

EOS (End of Service) testing is an OEM-style validation routine carried out after high-voltage repairs on BMW and MINI EVs. It confirms the high-voltage system is safe, electrically sound, and operating correctly before handover.

HV repair work can disturb insulation, seals, wiring, contactors, and battery balance. EOS testing helps catch issues that could otherwise lead to isolation faults, repeat warnings, reduced performance, or safety risks.

At LKQ Electriq, we test Generation 3, 4, and 5 BMW and MINI battery packs using specialist equipment and trained EV technicians, providing a clear pass/fail result and follow-on recommendations where applicable.

Repair work that typically requires EOS testing includes:

  • Accident or crash repairs involving high-voltage components
  • HV battery testing and fault diagnosis
  • High-voltage system repairs (wiring, connectors, seals)
  • EME (Electric Machine Electronics) repairs
  • Battery cell replacement or module swaps

Common Symptoms

High-voltage warning messages after repair work

The driver may see recurring drivetrain or high-voltage system warnings even after parts have been replaced.

Isolation/insulation resistance-related faults

These can be triggered by moisture ingress, damaged cables, disturbed seals, or insulation breakdown.

Intermittent charging issues

The vehicle may refuse to charge, charge slowly, or stop charging unexpectedly.

Reduced performance or limp mode

Power limitation can occur when the system detects conditions outside safe limits.

Vehicles Affected

We currently offer EOS testing for BMW and MINI high-voltage systems, including Generation 3, 4, and 5 battery packs.

If you are unsure whether your vehicle is eligible, share your registration and VIN and we will confirm compatibility before booking.

What's Included?

Electrical isolation and sealing checks

We confirm insulation resistance and sealing integrity to reduce the risk of isolation faults and moisture ingress.

Structured EOS test routine

We prepare and execute a controlled high-voltage test sequence to validate readiness after repair or refit.

Wiring and switching function verification

We check key signal line integrity and verify contactor switching behaviour for safe engagement and disengagement.

Voltage and diagnostics validation

We assess voltage admissibility, review module voltage symmetry, and evaluate fault memory (clearing only where appropriate).

All work is backed by a 12-month warranty covering both parts and labour, giving you peace of mind and confidence in the quality of our service.

I had an issue with a BMW i3, vehicle was booked in easily on the phone. Vehicle fault was diagnosed and repaired quickly. Everyone I dealt with was polite, friendly & courteous. I’d happily deal with them again and recommend them to others.
